Parking is a hassle downtown but Kona Inn has great service, wonderful food and the traditional Kona vibe with the large wicker chairs, open ocean air and can hear the waves. We loved it!

Another wonderful evening! We had our favorite table waiting even though it was very busy and Malia our fabulous server! We had the mahi mahi and lamb and an exceptional sushi roll made by the sushi chef (thank you!) and dessert… thanks again for the lovely hospitality and delicious food!

This review does not reflect service or food, etc., because there was no experience to rate. I made a reservation on Feb 9 at 6pm for a birthday dinner. To our surprise when we arrived, the restaurant was closed. No signage was posted and the hours showed that they were supposed to be open. It was such a bummer, but fortunately Teshima’s restaurant up the hill was able to accommodate our party of 6.

Took 5 minutes standing in line to wait to be seated at table. No one ever came to serve us . After 15 minutes husband went inside to request service. After 5 more minutes of neglect we walked out ! Terrible customer service! Never will return.

Another outstanding evening here! Our second time back since arriving in Kona! The owners welcomed us back so graciously! Lovely people and we had Malia as our server who again was incredible! We had the zen and emperor sushi rolls, and the risotto with shrimp and scallops which was to die for! Also some sashimi dessert and a lovely bottle of wine! Perfect dinner! See you again before we leave

We love Kenichi and always return when in Kona! It just gets better every time ! They updated the menu and it’s wonderful! We had the incredible kampachi special and the divine sushi rolls and dynamite shrimp! And we also tried the ahi tuna special which was sublime! Malia our server is always wonderful and giving all her attention! A great thank you to owners Jordan and Chris who work non stop to make this place special! We’ll be back Friday! Go please… they revamped the inside and it really looks wonderful

We made a reservation because we knows our son was getting engaged in Hawaii and we wanted to celebrate at Kenichi because we love it. We requested a bottle of champagne and when they were out of our requested brand they substituted a more expensive brand. The food was delicious as always and the night was perfect.
