Established in 2003, King’s Fish House is Carlsbad’s choice for seafood. Located just across from the Carlsbad Premium outlets and LEGOLAND, King’s Fish House features a large selection of fresh oysters, seasonal catches, sushi and live shellfish, including lobster and crab, on a menu that changes daily.

We’ve been in restaurants a little while – three generations, to be precise. A long time ago, we embarked on a road trip in search of the ultimate seafood experience. We traveled down highways and byways, pulled up a seat, put on bibs and soaked up the seafood experience: the no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable.

Yana, our server was excellent — can’t say enough about the service staff overall and her, in particular. Our wedge salad (split) was very good, however, our entrees were disappointing. I was moderately disappointed with my selection of the yellowfin tuna — it was simply OK. My wife’s grilled swordfish was absolutely terrible. I’ve enjoyed swordfish for years, and this was perhaps the most fishy tasting swordfish I’ve ever had in my life. Maybe it was just bad luck this time around, but I won’t give them another chance on that dish. They need to figure out what was wrong and fix it..Appreciate all their charitable endeavors, though.

We always have a great experience when we eat at Kings. Last night was special bc our waitress, Brooke took super good care of us on an extremely busy night! The day after Valentines and on a Saturday night. We are from OK, have a home in Carlsbad and we ALWAYS make a point to eat at King’s while we’re in town! Sometimes more than once!

Excellent service by Ethan, ahi poke a little too spicy but enjoyed it regardless. Ethan offered to replace the order which was appreciated. Chowder delicious and so was the Brule! Always enjoy King's!

The place is great and the food was good too, however, the batch of sushi I got was not as fresh as I expected it. The rice was a bit hard under the salmon and tuna. The clam chowder had very small amounts of clam, which was disappointing. Overall, I give this place 4 stars.

Freeway noise in the outdoor room was worst we've ever experienced - we blamed it on the rain - the freeway being so wet from previous days' rain. Unfortunately, there was a large party sitting near us and their extremely loud laughing was somewhat disturbing and they seemed to be oblivious to anyone around them. Between these two disturbances, it was hard to hear each other. As soon as they left, we were enjoying dessert and it was far more comfortable. The freeway noise had diminished as well (not as much traffic after an hour?)

Great customer service. Her fish was a bit overcooked and we decided to let them know. They provided another one which came out perfect.
