Established in 2003, King’s Fish House is Carlsbad’s choice for seafood. Located just across from the Carlsbad Premium outlets and LEGOLAND, King’s Fish House features a large selection of fresh oysters, seasonal catches, sushi and live shellfish, including lobster and crab, on a menu that changes daily.

We’ve been in restaurants a little while – three generations, to be precise. A long time ago, we embarked on a road trip in search of the ultimate seafood experience. We traveled down highways and byways, pulled up a seat, put on bibs and soaked up the seafood experience: the no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable.

Because of the poor economy they’re cutting corners by using lesser quality seafoods, and the difference is quite clear. Such a disappointment from before when they were the favorite for the entire family! They were not nearly as busy as they normal either which reinforces my opinion that others also feel that King’s has lost the magic that once made them the premier chain seafood restaurant. Service was excellent, but when there are many empty tables, the service better be fantastic to overcome the mediocre meals. I hope they learn soon before they go out of business.

We were welcomed with open arms and treated very well by Nick, our server. This is our new Christmas Eve tradition and King’s Fish House delivered! Our dinner for the evening was the Captains Platter, Tuna Melt, Poke app, kids cheeseburger, Caesar salad, and a chilled bottle of Pinot Grigio … YUM!

Service was really slow. I had to remind our waitress to bring our drinks. After we placed our orders the waitress came back and told us they were out of baked potatoes. What??? The food took a really long time to come out. Our dining experience took nearly two hours! We typically eat here once a month and it’s never been this slow especially considering the restaurant wasn’t very crowded. The kitchen manager came out and said there was a problem in the kitchen which caused the delay but it looked normal to me. They did comp us a free dessert for the delays.

King's is part of our Christmas tradition, and last night's feast was the best meal we've ever had there! A big thanks to our server Colette for making our special night even more special! She was so attentive, and we didn't feel rushed, even though it got busy. Her recommendations were spot on, and our dinner was delicious! It was the first time my husband tried key lime pie, he hasn't stopped talking about it since. It was DIVINE! We'll definitely be back!

I had a reservation but still had to wait and then tried to sit us on emergency exit door/ service area. I asked to be moved one booth over and was fine but just felt like it didn’t matter that i had a reservation and didn’t quite accommodate us ! Food was great though and service was fine ! Love the restaurant and will go back but there were no apologies etc
