                                      Once again, the restaurant was full. We had a reservation and our table was waiting. We ordered from the specials- Chilean Sea Bass Oregenata. We split Caesar salad and calamari as appetizers. All delicious. We had room for desert - Chef’s Trio of Ricotta cake, flourless chocolate cake and almond cake. Perfect evening.

                                      Fantastic service and delicious food- the perfect combination that describes La Cipollina. This place has been here in Freehold for over 4 decades. It shows. It’s evident that the servers are professionally trained from their attire to their demeanor. The food is scrumptious. The cheeses are next level. I’ll definitely be back- again and again.

                                      One of the best meals I have ever had. We started with apps- Meatballs, rice balls and mushrooms- outstanding. Delicious- nothing left over - for main course I had chicken Milanese- again outstanding- chicken cooked just right - side of asparagus also outstanding. Ended the night with coffee and chocolate tort. I can’t wait to go back

                                      The food was decent. The best dishes were the calamari, cavatelli with spicy vodka, and sea bass. The rest of the dishes were good but not anything to write home about. Our biggest disappointment was that our server left half way through our meal and never told us or gave us another server to work with for our evening. I will say the host was accommodating and allowed us to bump our party from 6 to 8 people 2 hours before our reservation. That said, we aren’t planning on returning for a while.

                                      Maybe it’s just me, but when dining at most restaurants nowadays it feels like a very sterile and transactional process - make a reservation, order the food, pay the check, and leave - that is until you dine at La Cipollina. Whether it’s your first time dining there, or you’re a regular, every staff member treats guests as if you’re part of their family. This stems from the belief and the training of the owner Anthony. Anthony has had this spot for a LONG time and it seems as though his passion for food and hospitality has not waned in the last 30 years. It’s great to see staff that is excited to be there, to tell you about the specials, and to make you feel as you’re celebrating a special occasion each and every time you dine there. The food is consistently good and that’s bc the quality of the ingredients doesn’t change. As the price of everything goes up, it must be hard for a restaurant to stay consistent, but somehow La Cipollina delivers the meticulous attention to detail that we’ve all come to know and love. I’ve heard some local Freehold folks call this a “special” occasion spot, and this couldn’t be further from the truth. Is it a great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, sure - but it’s just as awesome to celebrate being alive on a random Thursday night and ordering the fresh mutz and the gnocci - thank me later 😀

                                      On this very chilly night, the restaurant was full. Heather welcomed us and our waiter, Franco met us at our table with a very generous list of specials. The staff came over to welcome us. We shared a Caesar salad and fried calamari. My husband had his usual delicious Zappa di clams in white sauce. We enjoyed our wine with our food and no one rushed us. My husband ordered the filet Mignon special, cooked to perfection - not a morsel left on his plate. My salmon was cooked just as I like it. We finished up with espressos. I do not know how owner Anthony manages to present such quality of food and generous portions without breaking the bank. Truly a great value for the money.

                                      Class and cuisine at its finest. La Cipollina delivers in every category. The service was impeccable and the house made mozzarella and rice balls delightful. This is what a night out should look like- high quality food and service, accompanied by elegant music and decor.
