La Dolce Vita is family owned and operated by two generations. Both ZIO (uncle) Giuseppe Salpietro and Nipote (nephew) Nicola Fuccilli invite you to experience their passion for Italian cuisine and culture.

The story of La Dolce Vita began five decades ago in a small town in the hills of Sicily. It is from here that co-owner Giuseppe Salpietro brings authentic cuisine, traditions and customs, which come from centuries of good living. La Dolce Vita believes in bringing this passion for Dolce Vita, translates to mean the sweet life, into every dish that leaves our kitchen. It is our goal to make every customer feel like part of our very own family.                                                                                                       I made an 8 PM reservation for Valentine’s Day, but upon arrival, we were placed on a waitlist as if we had never booked a table. It quickly became clear that the restaurant had overbooked, prioritizing getting people through the door rather than honoring reservations. We weren’t alone—many other customers were stuck waiting in a packed lobby for 30 minutes or more. Due to the overwhelming crowd, our food took over an hour to arrive. While the meal itself was good, the long wait dampened the experience. The manager offered a 50% discount, which might have been acceptable on any other night, but on Valentine’s Day—when our entire evening was planned around this dinner—it didn’t make up for the disappointment. An unfortunate and frustrating experience.

                                                                                                      We’ve dined at la Dolce Vita many many times, but since they expanded the size of the restaurant years ago, it’s never been the same. On Valentine’s Day it was an absolute zoo. Seated at 6:30 PM, and did not get food till close to 8 PM. Seated in the back by the bar, where an outside door kept opening, with freezing cold drafts, right near a waiter station with servers leaning over us to gather plates, napkins, and utensils all night long. Had to get up from my seat and push my chair in every time someone wanted to get to the bar to allow them to pass. Not sure if we’ll be back.

                                                                                                      We so enjoyed our pre-Valentines dinner. It was happy hour at the bar when we arrived so we enjoyed a delicious dirty martini at a great price. My dinner appetizer was the pasta fagiol Soup that was very delicious with some added Parmesan cheese. My husband had the seafood appetizer which is always fantastic. It had an amazing variety of seafood in it. I had the raviolis which I always have to have when I’m at this restaurant. They remind me of my grandmother’s recipe. My husband enjoyed the veal franchise, the veal was very tender. To top off our celebration I had a strawberry chocolate martini. All I can say is Yum!

                                                                                                      Food was delicious, and everything came out hot. We had baked clams, shared a huge salad and we split the veal parm chop, and we took some home. Bread was so good, we are big bread eater’s so we go back to restaurants based on their bread LOL. Overall really good choice!

                                                                                                      Across the street from the ocean/beach, so you can't beat the view----request a seat in its path. The food is excellent, never disappoints. We would go far more often, and used to, but the pricing is not fair anymore, even considering inflation. The sides, the desserts, the dinner entree pricing is not fair. Go for lunch which is served 'til 3pm and is more reasonable. Don't go after 3pm, and if you do, bring cash to spare yourself the credit card charge and don't order apps, sides and desserts which are overpriced. Also, after many visits and requests, we stopped requesting a flourless chocolate or other dessert gluten-free, and we refuse to pay over $10 each for ice cream. So, bottom line, do lunch or happy hour, not dinner, bring cash, and enjoy the great view and great food! If an adjustment is made on pricing, we will gratefully and happily go back to frequent visits. God bless!
