                                                                    We had a fun night at La Grotta. It is beautiful ambience is nice. Parking was a huge challenge, but that’s not unusual for downtown Richmond. It would be nice to suggest on the website where to park or validate parking tickets. Our waiter was amazing. I cannot remember his name. He was also training a young man, but did a great job attending to us and several other tables! I would say the food was average. I was expecting amazing pasta and creative sauces. Our meals were good but certainly not $25-$30 entrées in my opinion. They have an extensive wine list but mostly reds. I enjoy white and was able to find a lovely reasonably priced class but choices were slim. It was my sister‘s birthday and I had marked that on my reservation. Other tables around us were bought birthday surprises, but we never were. Perhaps it was just miscommunication.

                                                                    Wonderful meal - everything was delicious and exactly what you’d expect from a nice Italian restaurant. Loved the Caesar salad, the carpaccio and the profiteroles - yummmmmm!

                                                                    First class, from the ambiance, food, wine, service and management. A birthday dinner was spectacular, ending with the teramassue desert, made extra special, the waiter hand wrote happy birthday in chocolate all around the the plates edge. The manager added a special touch to ensure the evening was a success.

                                                                    My goodness - the wait staff is phenomenal! The menu options are perfect mix of choice- loved the olive tapenade served with the bread selections. Food presentation was creative & appealing - particularly the octopus appetizer! The Resturant seemed the center of a busy legislative session & we were greatful to get a seat ! Welcoming, yummy…will definitely return.
