La Marmotte, located in historic downtown Telluride, specializes in classic French cuisine and wine. We are open for dinner seven nights from 5pm - 9pm with a prix fixe three course menu. We are also offering a la carte dining options for the summer season and several happy hour specials from 5pm to 6pm. We have a STRICT 24 hour cancellation policy and you will be charged full menu price for cancellations within 24 hours of your reservation.                                                                             The food was good but overcooked. The filet mignon was medium rather than medium well and the salmon was medium well rather than medium rare. Both were rather dry. The pork chops, on the other hand, were perfect and succulent. Again, good food but the basics (doneness) were missed by a mile and really detracted from an otherwise great experience (great service and atmosphere).

                                                                            We sat at the bar which was wonderfully interactive. Wine choices were superb. Prix Fixe had excellent choices and is fairly priced.

                                                                            I ordered the trout and it was overcooked. The vegetable was a deconstructed salad nicose and it was terrible. The artichokes had no flavor and the dressing was also terrible. It use to be my favor restaurant in Telluride and I was so looking forward to going on my trip here but I was very disappointed in the main course.

Service was outstanding and the food was presented well, but just nothing special for the price. The Beef Bourgeon was more of a short rib over pasta. The pasta was homemade and good but the short rib was tough. The aged beef was not very flavorful.
