In the mountains of North Georgia the Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant has been welcoming guests since 1922. Restored in 2008, the hotel and restaurant offer the best of rustic elegance. From the antique heart pine walls to the locust beams on our deck, expect unique, local craftsmanship. The decor is rich with period antiques, hand-woven rugs, and local artwork.

It features a creatively prepared and presented Contemporary American menu with a Southern twist in the farm to table tradition. Fresh produce locally grown is hand selected and prepared by our Chef de Cuisine, whose entrees respect the natural flavors of high quality, humanely raised and locally harvested food. His kitchen produces cuisines from many regions including Classical French, Southern USA, and Mediterranean. Many guests describe the food at the Lake Rabun Hotel as "the best in the mountains."

REALLY REALLY DISAPPOINTING. I had read decent reviews online and the pictures of the restaurant looked quaint and cozy. I was excited to have a nice dinner while our family was spending a weekend up in North Georgia. The service was REALLY bad. The greeter barely looked or spoke to us before shuffling us to our seat. The place was almost completely empty (we had 8:30pm reservations) so it wasn't b/c they were busy. The 1st thing I noticed as we sat down was one of the spoons on the white table cloth was coated in some thick hard brown substance (looked like chocolate?). I have no idea how someone didn't catch that while setting the table b/c it was extremely dirty. The server (who was very young) knew nothing about the menu, didn't know how anything was prepared and even didn't know if they had bread (spoiler: it was on the menu and they did). The small menu became even smaller as we went to order, b/c the steak, trout and veggie pasta were all out. Basically 3 of the things we were excited to have. The prime rib was the "substitute" for the steak and when I asked about it, the server mentioned "it's the 1st time the chef has made this so she didn't know anything about it". When it came out it tasted like the chef didn't know anything about it either. The salmon dish was bland and the burgers even lacking. I guess the bright spot of the evening was a decent glass of wine and the paintings hanging around the small nook we sat in. They were really pretty. It's just tough paying over $250 for a meal and service that poor. It really put a damper on the evening. Everyone left disappointed and honestly still a little hungry so we stopped at a gas station on the way back to our cabin.

My husband and I had a delightful stay and dinner at the Lake Rabun Hotel. Our entrees were the Filet and the Pecan Crusted Trout, both were delicious! Our server was wonderful, and the drinks were very nice as well. We split an Apple Cobbler dessert - perfect finish to a wonderful meal!

This was our second time coming to the Lake Rabun Hotel Restaurant. We are from out of town and stay at a cabin nearby once a year. The tables in the outside dining area have a beautiful ambience. Our waitress Taylor recommended such tasty entrees and was so kind and accommodating all night. The Caesar salad was perfectly dressed. We now know why the pecan crusted trout is a fan fave (10/10), and the lamb chops were so tender. The seasonal drinks had so much flavor and were also very well thought out. All in all the Lake Rabun Hotel Restaurant shows so much attention to detail and we will continue to come back again and again.

We were seated. Server took drink orders. Delivered drinks. Asked if we were ready to order. The menu items that half of our party chose were unavailable. The prime rib sandwich and steak/eggs. Felt server had plenty of opportunities to let us know this info before we ordered.

Rustic restaurant with great ambiance. Well stocked bar with seasonal drink specials. Nice energetic staff. Pecan crusted trout was excellent.

Was our anniversary, had been there before but it was several years ago. The food was terrible. The sides had way too much seasoning. We could not eat the sides and the main dish was not much better. My husband never complains but he told the waitress he didn’t like it. He told me he owed me another anniversary meal. because it was so bad. I can’t remember having such a bad meal.
