Everything is true to the time period at King’s Arms Tavern, from the fashion sported by servers to the pewter candlesticks—all adding to an air of colonial elegance. Inspired by 18th-century recipes, but with updates to suit 21st-century tastes, tuck in to a chophouse menu featuring prime rib, pork chops, and more.ADA Accessible dining is available in the Purdie Kitchen. Please note this colonial building is separate from King’s Arms Tavern. Please check-in at the front, and our host will escort guests to the Purdie Kitchen.The taverns are located in the Historic Area, and not on a public street.     It was perfect to celebrate our anniversary. The food was excellent and Bruce was great at keeping our glasses full and serving the food. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the music. It had been a while since we could eat at Shields and didn’t know what to expect. The experience exceeded what we anticipated. The card we received topped off a wonderful evening.

    Our meal at the King's Arms Tavern was one of the absolute highlights of our visit to Williamsburg. The food was unbelievable, the service was lovely, and we enjoyed the live harpist who played for a bit. Cannot wait to return!

    We had a great meal at Sweet Tea and Barley. We are local and try to get in every other week. Food portions are great, lovely atmosphere and waitstaff. My husband loves the burgers and I go for the BBQ! Yum. Can be a bit noisy eating in the bar area on weekends, so we ask for the Garden Room. A lot quieter there.

    Went to the Fall Tea for my mother's birthday and this was a wonderful experience. Ambience was beautiful, music was relaxing and not overwhelming. We do have a nut allergy which we let them know. Food was very good and they worked with our nut allergy to still provide a complete tea experience. The savory options were amazing and we loved the pumpkin scones. The sweets weren't as good as the savory options, but since they needed to replace multiple options due to our nut allergy, this was understandable. Our server, Nokia, was very sweet and helpful. Thanks for a spectacular afternoon.
