Mertens Prime, located in the historic 1914 New Hotel Mertens lobby in Grand Rapids, offers locally sourced, in-house hand-cut steaks, chops, and unique takes on classics.     Our waiter, Dan was very attentive, accomodating, knowledgeable, as well as polite. All the staff was as well! Steak was amazing, prepared perfectly, sea basselted in your mouth. Appetizers were creative & delicious. Thank you to the chef(s)! Our grown children came home from Georgia. This was a treat!

    This was my third time resting at this restaurant. The first time was chicken and waffles and I didn’t care for it. But the second time I had the Autumn Harvest Bowl and a side of Mac and cheese… to die for! I loved it so much I had it again last week. I tried making a similar recipe at home but it just can’t compare!! I HIGHLY recommend both!!!

    First time visit, and was really impressed. Paying attention to the little things like the chips and tortillas being house made and fresh! The roasted corn dip appetizer was sweet and a solid choice! The carne asada was so very good, and my wife got Oscar’s baja tacos and they also were excellent! Such a nice experience that we bought our daughter and son in law a gift card on our way out! Definitely recommend, and will absolutely return!
