The year was 1943, and Jim and Alice Wimmer decided to take a big risk, buying a small existing roadside restaurant known for its char-broiled steaks. Food was decent but the burger buns would not stay together to eat. So it became a mess. Also the kids cheeseburger was overcooked almost burnt and very dry and the bun was over toasted and became hard at the edges. The atmosphere was great and it was pretty quiet.
