Driftwood Kitchen and Stateroom bar is a casual restaurant that serves ocean-to-table fare next to a lovely waterfront view. Driftwood also offers alternative menu items for landlubbers, such as dishes made of chicken or steak.Driftwood Kitchen and Stateroom Bar is open all through the week. In addition to its dinner menu, the restaurant serves brunch 7 days a week between 9 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. The airy dining room is a great place to enjoy a casual business lunch or a fun outing with friends. In 1912, at the bend of Forest Avenue, 23 year old Joe Jahraus opened the Laguna Lumber Company, he and his father(cigar maker, first postmaster and real estate agent) built the beautiful French Normandy building that is here today. Prior to the lumberyard opening, building supplies needed to be dragged in by mule or floated in on the tides, and therefore, Laguna Beach had less than three hundred permanent residences. After the lumberyard opened, the area began to grow at unprecedented rates, transforming it from a tent town into a thriving city. Laguna Lumber operated for seventy three years, sixty two of them in this location and its' architecture, influenced by Joe's tour abroad in World War I, is one of the most significant influences on the town's aesthetic. Half timbers, mud walls and shingled roofs grace many of the downtown storefronts and homes throughout the city because of this landmark. Today, 384 Forest is home to Lumberyard - a contemporary American restaurant.

    It was our first time here and we’d definitely return. A lot of bang for your buck. Ordered drinks (mexican beer and a spicy margarita) along with guacamole and chips. For dinner, I had the Ensenada tacos and my husband had carnitas. We split the fried ice cream for dessert. Everything was tasty!

    The Fin sushi bar is around the corner from the lobby bar so really hidden. The sushi was OUTSTANDING. We did ask for no sesame seeds at all and the edamame came with a sesame sauce. We sent it back. We also pre called and asked if they had a specific name brand sake. We were told no, we bought/brought our own, and they actually did have it. Thankfully as we didn’t want to spend the $35 cork fee on top of buying our own sake, we bought theirs. We would go back.
