Y Sospan can be found just off the market square in Historic town Dolgellau. Welcome to Aberdunant Hall where we have our fantastic outdoor heated terrace (during peak season), cosy restaurant with an ambient atmosphere in which to dine. Our Menu consists of a number of classic dishes, steaks and meats from the Grill as well as a collection of more sophisticated plates. As we are now in our Winter Season Dinner is served Friday & Saturday evening with our fabulous Home cooked Carvery on Sundays. We only serve quality wines and beers and the tastiest food which is sourced from local suppliers. Adam Ellis our Exec Chef has designed our menus with a wide variety of options for special diets and with just a little tweak can be altered to suit the majority or diets. We also have an area for guests who wish to bring their dogs when you dine. However please note that this must be notified in advance. Should we not be advised of your requirement prior to arrival we not be able to accommodate.

At the Nag’s Head we are passionate about food and the excellent quality produce that is available locally. Lovely food. The soup was gorgeous, and liked the chicken with honey from the snack menu. Piping hot salted fries too 🍟 . Excellent service throughout. Such a nice family atmosphere. Highly recommend 👌

As always a nice atmosphere whether it be an evening meal or breakfast. Staff were polite, attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is reasonably priced and freshly cooked with a good choice of a continental on top.

We planned a weekend break in Dolgellau and Y Sospan was booked two weeks before the trip. We last ate there in September 2023 so being keen to visit again is a strong recommendation. We both wanted the lamb shank and it was outstanding in quality and quantity. It's a really interesting building, the service was excellent, the whole experience just what we hoped for. We did, in fact, return for lunch, without booking, on Saturday as we were keen to give the Cafe Menu a try. It'll be on our wish list anytime we are in North Wales and want a decent meal.

Due to graduation at the University everywhere was fully booked. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us( party of 5 with 2 having mobility issues). Food was good value for money and was prompt. Would visit again
