The name “Ichoume” comes from the address of this street. Ichoume is located on ‘1’ Harbour Street, Darling Quarter. That’s why we named the restaurant “Ichoume” (Choume is used for addresses in Japan. It's a way of breaking a municipality into districts. 丁目(Choume) is ‘city district’, so ‘1 choume’(Ichoume) is ‘1st [city] district’).The design concept of the restaurant is a hangout for adults.The menu is supervised by AKIKO ISHIKAWA, who has accumulated her career in many restaurants. It’s Christmas Day, they are short staffed & getting hammered but it was such a lovely afternoon. The staff were flustered yet apologetic but we didn’t mind, they were doing their very best. Food was great, my mocktail Sunnyside was delicious. The beers were cold, dishes were really interesting. We weren’t rushed at all in fact the restaurant called me the week before to move my booking so that we could enjoy more time there. Qudos to the staff holding it all together on a very busy day

Christmas Day 1200 lunch reservation. Me, my wife and our dog. We sat outside on a beautiful Sydney day. Food and drinks were excellent, the staff efficient and friendly. A most enjoyable lunch.

Vibes are immaculate, top notch food just kept on coming (which we love), drinks were on top, staff were very patient, and there was entertainment!! Always lively and fun, honestly can't wait to go back lol I love it here

Amazing experience. The chef was full of character and had lots of fun with the diners and explained the courses well. The service was great and the food was delicious. The wine pairing was a bit too much on the sweet side for my liking but was nice to taste a range of different sakes.
