Thank you for visiting Kenichi Izakaya Carbondale. An Izakaya is a type of informal Japanese pub. At sake breweries during the late 18th century, people in Japan began using sake kegs as stools, and snacks were served. This small plate menu was designed to encourage sharing amongst friends and family. Food is prepared in multiple kitchens and arrives as it is ready to ensure freshness. We make most of our menu in-house, from scratch, and use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.If no reservations are available, please note that we do have walk in apcae at our bar and sushi bar. I just want to give a huge shoutout to the amazing team at IZAKAYA for an unforgettable experience. The service was absolutely top notch so attentive and welcoming and the food? Out of this world! Every bite was packed with incredible flavors that totally blew us away. From the presentation to the vibe of the place, you can tell there’s so much heart and passion behind it all. Thank you for making our visit so special. We’ll definitely be back soon!

We found the restaurant to be beautiful and the key to the success with the great people. The manager, Oscar, our server, John, and his assistant Igor were very attentive. The food was good, although we ate fairly late since we’ve been traveling all day. I would say the atmosphere in people are both five stars and the food and value a little bit less. But then again, when you were at a resort you do expect higher cost. I had a bison burger that was undercooked for medium and my wife had chicken noodle soup that is not on the menu. I think our bill was just over $150 with tip.

New winter menu is out and it does not disappoint! Make sure you try to get there on a Friday night to try the sushi.
