Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Caroline's Table is a unique farm to table restaurant in the heart of the Eastern Shore. Chef Ken Zellers sources locally grown and harvested seafood, proteins and vegetables and works magic to elevate them into a memorable dining experience. The restaurant is housed in a historic building that has been lovingly restored. It was formally the town doctors house with his office in a small adjacent building. In addition to the main restaurant, THE SIDEBAR is located in the small building and serves up more casual fare including house made sourdough pizzas, fresh soups, salads and unique charcuterie boards. This restaurant is our families favorite. The food and drinks are the best in Lewes and Rehoboth in my opinion. The staff are great and knowledgeable about the dishes and what goes into them. 10 out of 10 every time!!!

I was so grateful that the Blue Pig Tavern honored my requests for seating by putting my partner and I at the table we hoped for, off in the corner of the room with the fireplace. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and warm and everyone treated us so kindly. What a special anniversary dinner. (Also, the pumpkin pie with cranberry drizzle was one of the best desserts I've ever had).

We had the special for the evening. The chicken was very good; however, the potatoes were not thoroughly cooked and had hard undercooked pieces in the mash. Service by Patty was excellent.
