Kachka features an award-winning menu of post-soviet inspired dishes including famous dishes such as the Herring under a fur coat, Rabbit in a clay pot, dumplings and much more. Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef. Enjoy perfectly charred 28-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled octopus with chorizo, housemade piquillo pepper and pork empanadas, slow roasted lechon, refreshing ceviches and smoked bone marrow.Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

    Amazing! The flavors just burst in your mouth! My husband got the meat tasting and I got the vegetarian tasting, and we shared. Again the flavors were spectacular! Our service was excellent and they were so informative. Such a memorable time for us.

    I had a group of 10 girlfriends join me for a birthday brunch, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Great food, good Portland vibe without being “too much” and our server was wonderful!

    This is a teeny tiny restaurant (9 tables, 20 diners) that is wedged into a semi industrial district next to a tattoo parlor. Incredible how the chef can create so many masterpieces in a kitchen the size of a broom closet. John is the owner, and he seems to function as a one man Maistre d", server, busboy, sommelier, and probably janitor after the restaurant closes. Another amazing sleight of hand(s). There is a (very pricey) tasting menu available for $152 (before wine), that appears to have about 12 courses. The regular menu changes frequently. Basically, follow John's suggestions for everything. It's all fabulous. Downsides are that the tables are only inches apart, so don't come here for quiet, private conversations. Parking is a bit of a pain, but not a real obstacle to a great destination meal. Vive la France!!

    I was one if the first people through their front door when they opened a few years ago, and Canard still remains one of the jewels in PDX. Wonderful atmosphere coupled with stellar, genuine service and innovative food to boot! A+++

    Great first time at Grand Amari, Christmas Eve dinner! I've been meaning to visit for a while. From the time I walked in everyone was warm and friendly. All that translated well throughout the dinner. I was delighted with the menu options; food, drinks, dessert and spirits. Thank you so much!
