Lury delivers a unique approach to creative, ingredient-led cooking, drawing on British and Burgher heritage. The Burghers of Sri Lanka developed their own culinary style combining their European ancestry with the ingredients of Sri Lanka. Drawing on Jack’s British, European and Sri Lankan heritage our kitchen serves a unique tasting menu inspired by ingredients, memory and culture. We serve a set menu comprising 10-12 dishes that reflect our ethos and the best produce available on any given day.Our set menu for June will be entirely focused on fish and will not contain any meat. However please note that all other months we do not offer alternative pescatarian or vegetarian menus. As we are a small team, please note we serve only our set menu, we do not offer pescatarian or vegetarian alternatives at this time. Additionally we are unable to cater for most allergies. The Crown is an independently run award-winning freehouse in the heart of Hastings Old Town, open at 11am every day. Our kitchen is open 12-4, 5 till 9. We serve modern British food in a friendly informal environment using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. We create dishes from scratch, including homemade bread, fish from the surrounding seas and seasonal veg.We serve local real ales & craft beers, wine and a specialist gin and whisky selection and delicious coffee.'High Top Tables' refers to our high tables with bar stools. The Royal is operated by James Hickson, who has a solid hospitality background having learned his trade at well-loved restaurants and gastropubs including St John, Great Queen Street, The Canton Arms and Moro. The First In Last Out (FILO), is a family run free-house in the Old Town of Hastings. Alongside our award winning beer, we serve quality food prepared from scratch. We offer lunch and dinner everyday, including our ever popular Tapas night (Monday), Indian Thali (Thursday) and Sunday roasts.The brewery is located just two minutes away from the pub, where we produce five regular ales using a full mash-tun process.     Good energy in the room. Innovative menu. Everything we had was really well cooked and presented. Caeser salad; scallops w cauliflower and punchy sauce. Lamb breast. All very enjoyable. Standout was sourdough w marmite butter, yes you read that right. Sourdough w marmite butter. I'd like to see a few more options on the wine list.

    Come here yesderday for my anniversary dinner and was greeted by a special handwritten note wishing me and my partner a happy anniversary which was a nice touch, every one of the ten courses was new, exiting and delicious it was an amazing experience. Due to the small amount of tables it was like having a private Michelin dinner. The chef even come to bring the last course personally which was also a nice touch to meet the man behind the food. Great experience thanks to everyone at Lury

    We ordered mixed shish and liver shish. Both good presentation and great tast. The only fault was the liver was very dry.

    We didn't eat here just went in to watch the football. Nice atmosphere, we had a decent view of a screen, staff were helpful when there was an issue with the OpenTable reservation. Would watch a match again here if we're in the area. Food looked nice but can't comment on it as we didn't eat (but review wouldn't let me not put a score for food).
