Named for the year that Dr. John Anderson purchased the land upon which the resort now stands, 1796 Room has now been re-launched as a signature steak and chophouse, serving steaks, chops, fish and poultry of the highest quality. 1796 uses only the highest quality 21-day aged USDA prime beef. Our meats are prepared at 1700° on our infrared broiler ensuring juiciness, tenderness and flavor. All entrées are served with our signature grilled artichoke, and “shared” side dishes are available à la carte along with a tasty dessert selection freshly prepared in-house by our pastry team. Our world-class wine list is designed to match the quality of our food selection, and our professional staff is trained to recommend the perfect wine pairing with your meal. Creating a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere of warm sophistication, the new 1796 Room is a dining experience not to be missed.

    We had another excellent dining experience at The 1796 Room. This time we brought friends with us from Philadelphia and they agreed they had the best steaks ever! I once again enjoyed the crab cakes. We love the carrots and spinach and got those again. This time we ended our meal with carrot cake. Wow!!! Service was once again outstanding. We look forward to returning again in the future and bringing more friends.

    When asking if coffee was fresh the server stated that it was same from lunch (3hrs prior,) She did not offer to make a new pot and had to settle for ice tea. Never asked to refill drinks. Good grief, how difficult would be to get a fresh cup of coffee. Ended up getting coffee later on casino floor.

    Reserved an igloo for 8 people. Was available upon arrival. Igloo was charming. Waitstaff was friendly and efficient. Food was terrific. Findley wine was great. Draft beers were very good. It was an outstanding experience.

    Best dinner to be had in Bedford, hands down. Especially if you are vegetarian, they are wonderful at accommodating.
