My husband and I had another excellent dining experience at The Black Whale. Our server, Kayla, was great. The food, as always, was well prepared and presented and we enjoyed it. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

If you want a fine dining experience, then go to Candela Cucina in downtown New Bedford. This was my second time at C.C. and I once again experienced an awesome evening. Let's start with the service, fantastic. My friends and I had a delightful waiter who took care of our every wish! He made the evening fun! This time, we sat out in the patio room, a great spot with lots of ambiance. The paintings just seem to fit the decor so naturally. Heard it was Suzanne from the Art Museum who chose the paintings, a way to have a professional atmosphere representing the artistic flavor of New Bedford! Now onto the food! In a word, yummy! My friends enjoyed the large meatball and cheese as suggested by the waiter, loving every bite! Their main course was mouthwatering. I chose the NY strip and was not disappointed. It was cooked just as I like it, nice and rare! It was accompanied by fingerling potatoes and a vegetable. We shared a birthday dessert of the homemade donuts melted in our mouths. Go there, you will love it! Good drinks too!

Two for one dinner on Monday nights, shared app, bottle of wine, 2 entrees. Wonderful very attentive waitress Cheryl, meal was outstanding!! Shared Caesar salad was more than enough and entree portions were HUGE! Take home for dinner for tomorrow night! Asked for a quiet table near the fireplace and we get it every-time! Wonderful! Happen to mention a birthday, out they came with a fireworks candle on our ordered carrot cake! Cake was so good we asked if they made in -house. Guess what? They have an in-house dessert chef!!! Who knew?!!!! Would highly recommend Bocca.

Overall, we had an excellent experience. The service was great, and the food was excellent. However, the heat could have been turned up; everyone was sitting on their hands.
