The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. We had such a fantastic experience at Hawksmoor last night! Service, food, and atmosphere were all excellent. We took advantage of the BYOB Monday offer, which, if you're on a budget, helps lessen the blow to the wallet, as corkage is only £5 per bottle. As always though, you get what you pay for, and in this case what we got was really fantastic steak, with smoked salmon, caesar salad, and potted beef also amongst the highlights. Our server was brilliant, present and chatty without ever intruding. Same goes for the sommelier, who was really lovely. They were both great with my daughter, who is only 2, and had a lovely night also. Thanks very much for a great pre-Christmas get together!

Food was really good everyone in our party enjoyed what they had chosen. Surroundings are beautiful, have visited the Ivy before in York but the building in Liverpool that used to be a bank is absolutely beautiful.

Food was good and came out quickly, Joe was helpful with reccomendations for beer, cask was good just wish there was a little more range but they said that's getting bigger soon. Overall great evening and would 100% reccomend!
