Our wine list is curated by Sommelier/Owner Dilek Caner, who is currently the only Master of Wine in Texas. For the last twenty years, Dilek has trained many sommeliers and wine directors in New York City and Dallas. We are open from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Saturdays. During these hours, we offer a rotating selection of 16 by-the-glass options available in 1 oz, 3 oz, or 5 oz pours and serve a bar menu. We also offer a seasonal six-course dinner with optional wine pairings on Saturdays at 6:30 pm. In 1983, after the success of La Calle Doce, Oscar and Laura Sanchez wanted to open another restaurant but they didn’t want to duplicate their previous success nor did they want to open just another Tex-Mex restaurant. Oscar wanted something that wasn’t found in Dallas, something that reminded him of home. Since both Oscar and Laura are from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Northern Mexico, they decided to open a restaurant that specialized in Comida Norteño (northern food) and Tex-Mex featuring dishes such as cabrito, mollejas, and asado de puerco. Today El Ranchito is known for it’s authentic Mexican food, freshly made tortillas and festive atmosphere where mariachis play daily. These elements – the food, the music and the friendly staff – have helped El Ranchito achieve it’s ultimate goal of creating an atmosphere where the customer feels as if they are back home in Monterrey.

My family was able to book a last minute reservation at Swank on the weekend, nonetheless. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile and promptly seated. The restaurant was able to accommodate my 3 year old son with a booster seat. The chef made some items for my son, who is a very picky eater. The food was amazing. My wife and I had the spinach dip, and the Italian egg rolls. The egg rolls were savory and quite delicious (10/10). For the main entree we had the lasagna and the lamb chops which were both very flavorful. The lasagna had a nice twist to it with the added pesto which was served in a small cast iron skillet. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection and served on a bed of mashed potatoes. I also had a cocktail - old fashioned with woodford reserve. Very tasty. All in all, our experience was great. We’ll definitely be coming back! Thank you for making this family of three feel welcome from start to finish.
