The Captain Digby, a family friendly restaurant and bar which caters for all ages & occasions, with sea views overlooking Kingsgate Bay. We serve generously portioned fresh, home cooked food from our bar, restaurant & children's menu. Food is served from 12 noon each day, all day until late check our operating hours before arrival.Choose from our family dining area, close to our indoor play area or our cliff top restaurant with sea views. Alfresco dining is available with 40 benches overlooking the bay but these are non-reservable and work on a first come first served basis. Please note we can not guarantee window tables. We do not allow dogs inside our venue but they are welcome in our outside dining areas. Being so close to the shoreline we tend to have issues regarding internet connections and advise all customers also bring cash as an alternative payment.

Sète (named after the coastal town in France) is a wine bar, shop, and kitchen. Our doors opened to the wine bar in October 2022 and the restaurant and garden in July 2023. The seasonal menu focuses on modern European cooking with a heavy French influence, highlighting the best produce Kent has to offer. Wine is certainly at the heart of what we love. A luxurious spot designed and built by Vacuum Studio featuring a highly pigmented colour palette inspired by our global travels. Lighting is low, volume can get high and the intimate booth seating is a perfect facilitator for conversation. Our menu is comprised of snacks, appetisers, larger plates and deserts made entirely in-house* and their flavour profiles are amplified with chillis, herbs and citrus being heavily inspired by Los Angeles' multiculturalism.Our restaurant is compact and cosy with no extra space to accommodate prams and large dogs - if you do need to bring your dog to dinner please ensure they are comfortable in a busy restaurant atmosphere and are happy sitting on your lap or fit comfortably under your table. We welcome children in the restaurant however we do not have highchairs or a children’s menu. We have tailored the room to provide a fun, grown-up and safe space for all our guests and team.     All of the staff were so helpful, jovial and down to earth. Made a really nice change to be somewhere that felt so genuine. The food was ample and the starters were big portions and weren’t in a trendy small cup for a change! Best carrots we’ve all had in memory was the general consensus! Will deffo go back.

    Some technical difficulties adding to the pressures on this New Years Day service but were dealt with graciously by the very accomodating manager and his team. Nice spot to hide from the stormy weather outside!

    Lovely lunch to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Great food, lovely friendly service. We had the roast dinner (vegan option) and it was so tasty and well cooked. We followed this with desserts - which were also excellent - chocolate genache and Lemon posset. House red (Malbec) was very good according to the drinkers. This is a lovely chilled restaurant serving high quality food and offering great service. We felt welcomed and looked after. We will return.
