At Quetzal, we celebrate regional Mexican cuisine, inspired by traditional flavours and cooking styles, all cooked over a 28 foot-long open fire that runs the span of the hot line. General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Somehow these two halves make perfect sense, and complement each other in a seamless conversation, where neither wins the argument, but you really do have to see it! See you soon!

10/10 experience, the service was warm and welcoming and I came in as a solo diner and they were able to make smaller portions of different apps so I could try them! The wine was excellent, the food exceeded expectations—that pan con tomate on homemade sourdough had no business blowing me away like that. Get the cake!!!!!!!

Amazing dinner, everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. The squid ink risotto and octopus were done so well. Will be back for sure.

Very light serving but delicious and a little bit on the expensive side. The server was great Will have wished for two appetizers instead of the main menu but it was a little difficult to understand the description from the menu. Not familiar with Indian food.
