The name “Ichoume” comes from the address of this street. Ichoume is located on ‘1’ Harbour Street, Darling Quarter. That’s why we named the restaurant “Ichoume” (Choume is used for addresses in Japan. It's a way of breaking a municipality into districts. 丁目(Choume) is ‘city district’, so ‘1 choume’(Ichoume) is ‘1st [city] district’).The design concept of the restaurant is a hangout for adults.The menu is supervised by AKIKO ISHIKAWA, who has accumulated her career in many restaurants. The food was outstanding, very tasty, great variety. As it's basically all you can eat I didn't feel all of us ate up to the money amount. It's not somewhere you would go often due to the cost but definitely an experience! Staff were friendly and attentive, variety of food was great, very high quality.

Anthony and his staff were FANTABULOUS. When I appeared at the door in my wheelchair, Anthony was apologetic about the one big step since they were in an historic building. At the same time, in true Aussie manner, things were sorted, wines and beers were poured, and wondrous food was consumed. The staff and chef easily and appropriately accommodated a vegan request and Anthony’s wine suggestions were excellent. Thank you for a wonderful night.

Service was fantastic and food was delicious. We tried sea grapes, eel roll, vege noodles, vege calamari - loved every bite.

We ordered coffees which were great and breakfast eggs benedict which were lovely, but the shukshuka was not good, It was not thick enough and it was very dry and overcooked. The flavour was good but should not have been served. It could have been a one off, but I would go back and try again if i was in the area.
