Freddie Paul’s Steakhouse is just the beginning of a new generation. This heritage began back in the 1940’s when Fred & Amelia Saliba opened the very first restaurant in the Saliba family. Although Brian wasn’t with his grandparents in the beginning, he was raised under the careful training of his father and mother as they carried on the family tradition.Because of this training, Brian began to love the restaurant business and pursued a career in the culinary arts. The initiation of his training began at O.S.U. in the college of Hotel & Restaurant Administration. During this time, Brian was able to train as an intern under renown chefs at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs where he earned the right and inspiration to advance.As Brian progressed in his training, his desire to become a restaurant owner continuously increased. They have now begun the new generation of restaurants in the Saliba family, Freddie Paul’s Steakhouse.

Located in Utica Square, the restaurant still maintains much of the character its predecessor left behind, but the kitchen has been updated and the menu is continuously revised. When the weather is nice, the patio is open and dogs are more than welcome to visit The Wild Fork with their owners.There is a complete wine list to order from at The Wild Fork. A popular lunch item is the Wild Caesar salad served with olives, feta, artichokes and parmesan. For something a bit heavier, try our lobster pasta with lemon butter sauce, toasted bread crumbs and capers.

We waited a little longer than expected for a server show, although there was a last moment adjustment to accommodate my request about avoiding large groups. We weren't going to be in formal dining, and I actually expected to be in that area. This was our first visit.though. Pricey, even for upscale dining. But food and service were perfect. Except for the French Onion soup. Total fail on that item. We enjoyed our server Trang, and the manager Lasalle. Not sure about names. We will come back.

The food was good. Service was excellent. I felt that $14 for a house glass of wine was too high. I was offended with a $2. charge for a split plate was ridiculous. The kitchen did not split the plate and in fact did not even offer an extra plate. We shared steak and lobster. I used my salad plate for the lobster. Really a pet peeve of mine. However we will be back.

My roommate and I had an amazing time closing out the semester and spending some meal plan money! Like always, the food was amazing and you couldn’t walk out of there without at least 10 smiles. So thankful to have an amazing dining experience on campus.
