In the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Nipa Thai restaurant has been named after the original Nipa Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok. Lots of teak panelling, traditional Thai furnishings and artefacts lend an authentic air. All the staff dressed in traditional Thai costume are from Thailand - even the lady chefs. This authentic Thai restaurant is one of the first 15 recipients of the 'Thai Select' award - this award has been described as being the first ever Michelin-style award for Thai restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine, and is awarded by the Thai Government. We think this award sums up Nipa Thai rather nicely. What's cooking? Kai Haw Bai Toey - deep fried marinated chicken in pandanus leaves, Kaeng Kiew Warn Kai - chicken in green curry soup, also recommended the Nipa platter - a selection of the chef's special Thai starters.

We pride ourselves on always offering the warmest of welcomes, and we take pride in serving quality real ale and pub grub. At any one time we'll have up to 5 fantastic cask ales on tap, all lovingly cared for and chosen from breweries up and down the country. We can't help but feel though that there's a real shortage of places where you can watch sport in quiet, friendly surroundings. We hope to change that. At The Leinster we show all major sporting fixtures on Sky HD and also now we have BT Sport as well, and we'll make sure that you now have somewhere really special to sit back and enjoy the game, be it rugby, cricket or football.
