Chapter One is an award-winning Modern European restaurant with 3 AA Rosettes in Orpington, Kent. Following a major refurbishment in early 2019, Chapter One has relaunched with a more modern approach, tempting guests with greater variety and quality.Under the direction of acclaimed chef Andrew McLeish, modern European cooking is available in two formats. In the Restaurant, sophisticated seasonal dishes are served in a refined setting with a weekly changing 3-course Lunch Menu du Jour, a seasonally-inspired 7-course Tasting Menu and an a la carte option. In the more informal Brasserie, a selection of favourites are cooked to perfection with the finest ingredients. Lovely ambiance, and the steaks and cocktails are fantastic. We went on a Wednesday lunch time so it was very quiet, but it didn’t stop us enjoying our visit. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely experience, turned up about 30 mins early and sat down in the lounge area with a drink, staff were really friendly and polite, the afternoon tea was beautifully laid out and tasted fantastic light yet filling, I would highly recommend it, we will be rebooking in the future

Although the management of The Bakery has changed, the table settings and service were still a high standard. There was less choice of menu options, but quality was still a good standard. In conclusion, a relaxing evening with friends.
