Bluestone is a Chicago-style restaurant in Evanston that offers homestyle cooking in a warm and welcoming environment. Owner John, whose obsession with golf led to the more than 250 pin flags decorating the restaurant, opened Bluestone after transitioning from commercial film production. His goal was to create a locale that was filled with friendliness and familiar faces, all while serving a variety of menu options with a hometown feel. Alcove is our new favorite restaurant! From the excellent food to the serene elegant ambience - this is a venue that provides a superb dining experience. The low noise level and quiet music is a welcome factor for a great evening of conversation and fine dining. Additionally, the prices are reasonable for the upscale menu.

A delightful evening with an interesting menu and very good service. It was very quiet with only one other table of diners, but everything we ordered was available and excellent. Modest wine list .

Great spot with above average food. The salads were great, the French onion was very average, the ambience was cool. I would definitely go back but wish they can improve on the soup a bit.
