Such a wonderful place! If you haven’t ever been to the Lake Elmo Inn, it’s worth a trip. Located in the quaint downtown of Lake Elmo, this historic restaurant has been serving since 1881. I first went there about 5 years ago for a celebration with a group of friends, and its charm has stuck with me ever since. One of my favorite places to go. It definitely has a traditional ambience - you feel like you are walking into something special. But it’s comfortable - from the host, to the dining rooms to the service. It nods to what fine dining used to be - and what a great feeling that creates. And the food! The menu is perfectly curated to offer familiar favorites, and interesting evolutions of the standards. So make a date with your favorite somebody, and treat yourselves to an absolutely delightful experience.

We love this place for all kinds of occasions. The food, drink and service is always very good. The variety of food and drink including wine options are better than anywhere else in Stillwater. The only issue we encountered was that the sliding entrance doors opened whenever anyone got close to them, so they were open too often and for long enough periods of time that we had to wear our coats while we ate, because it’s cold outside in January. So make sure to plan ahead with a warm coat and whatnot in case your table is close to the front doors. We’ll be back!

Amazing bloody mary and mimosa bar, almost a meal in themselves! We were celebrating a birthday, which got us a free photo booth token and dessert to share. I didn't realize how big this place is! We were seated in the quieter dining side, but the live music playing in the other area wasn't too loud. Looks like a nice happy hour, too, so we'll have to return soon for that!

great server great food and drinks. good portions and didnt feel rushed

My family and I had a wonderful time. We had 4:30 dinner reservations January 1st. My wife and I were greeted in a very friendly, and professional manner. We had a wait of only a minute or two before we were taken to our table. After another minute or two we were graciously approached and greeted by our server Rebecca P. She was very friendly and personable, and made us feel welcome. A few minutes later the second half of our party arrived. That included my step daughter and her two daughter (ages 2 years and 7 weeks) Rebecca, greeted them all with paying special attention to my two granddaughters. Once we settled in Rebecca asked if we would enjoy something to drink. We placed our order and then a few minutes later returned with our order. She then proceeded to tell us the specials of the evening and answered all our questions. After giving us a reasonable amount of time she returned to our and took our orders. She asked each of us questions and made us feel welcome, and payed great attention to the two young girls, building a great connection to us all and gave us a wonderful feeling of hospitality. Our dinners arrived, and they were all done to perfection. During our meals Rebecca and several other employees would stop by and ask how things were and if everything was okay. They'd also continue to pay awesome attention to our young granddaughters. Everyone made sure that we were enjoying ourselves and made us feel special. It was truly a wonderful experience for all of us and we were thrilled that we dined at Baldamar. This was our third time at this establishment, and each has been terrific, but this one topped em all. Thank you. On a special note, if this is typical service from Rebecca and the other people who worked on that night, I strongly urge that they receive pay increases. They deserve the best praises. Randy Reed
