The Hartwood Restaurant enjoys a rich history. The originally the headquarters of the Harmar Coal Company. Purchased in 1988, the building was transformed into retail space, including antiques and a bookstore. Café tables were soon added amongst the book shelves, Over the years, The Hartwood Restaurant has evolved into a charming and unique place for meals, drinks, and events. The elegant dining rooms and a pub featuring hand-tooled woodwork and stained glass artwork.The Hartwood also features outdoor dining in a garden-like atmosphere, complete with a wood burning fireplace.     Hands down one of the best experiences! The food was delicious and eating in the outdoor igloo was so much fun! We made last minute reservations for our dinner here and at the time all that was available was inside the restaurant. However, the staff was EXCEPTIONALLY accommodating and helped us move into an igloo once one opened up, for this amazing experience!

    Great food and good service. Well taken care of and out in an hour on a Saturday night. Cocktails were very well made and Vegan options were offered for my wife. Will be back!

    5 adults out celebrating my birthday. The seasonal specialty cocktails were delicious. Everything from literally soup to nuts were delicious. Clam chowder, calamari, variety of salads, entrees of lamb burgers, pork chop, fish sandwiches, ravioli and vegetable fettuccine. Then a candy cane crusted and pecan covered vanilla ice cream ball for dessert. Multiple items shared and enjoyed by all. Waitstaff, hostesses and waiter, friendly and personable. Wonderful dining space/atmosphere. Lovely evening with family.

    Very friendly service. Food was excellent! Great place for us to catch up with friends from out of town over dinner. Atmosphere was perfect and did not feel rushed!! Beer was also very good. Great selection for all of our different tastes
