Five prominent oaks that stood in a semi-circle on the front lawn gave the estate its original name: Five Oaks. The estate has operated as a dining establishment and bar since 1961.The Oaks has become best known for the glorious wedding ceremonies and receptions held exclusively on the property. We are also well known for our traditional Easter, Mother's Day and Thanksgiving Buffets. We take pride in all of our social and business events that we host.The Oaks offers the finest in al fresco lakeside dining. Experience dining approximately 30 feet below ground in historic caverns that were hand built in the 1800's. Accidentally discovered in 2018 during the building of our parent restaurant, Hudson and Essex, we have refurbished the caverns once used to store beer before air conditioning into a one of a kind dining experience. Every Friday and Saturday night we provide an 8 course dinner with wine pairings from our home winery ( Cypress Hill Winery ) using wines made with California grapes. Prepaid reservation only.
