Experience dining approximately 30 feet below ground in historic caverns that were hand built in the 1800's. Accidentally discovered in 2018 during the building of our parent restaurant, Hudson and Essex, we have refurbished the caverns once used to store beer before air conditioning into a one of a kind dining experience. Every Friday and Saturday night we provide an 8 course dinner with wine pairings from our home winery ( Cypress Hill Winery ) using wines made with California grapes. Prepaid reservation only.     Wonderful place! Visited for my husbands birthday and The Alcove did not disappoint! Drinks were unique and delicious, spicy shrimp was very good and both entrees were perfectly cooked and very good! They gave him a commentary dessert of his choice! Highly impressed by our server and how quickly our food came out. Overall, a wonderful experience, will be returning!

    We were there for the New Years brunch. The food selection was but unfortunately, it wasn’t stocked enough, so we had to wait for several items. It was delicious. All of the staff, including our server, Addie, were very helpful and friendly.

    Hudson & Essex is a high end restaurant with attentive staff & unique drinks and food. The wait staff helps each other out & you can see the comradery that exists between the servers. It's a terrific atmosphere that makes you feel welcome. In addition to typical filet, chicken dish, etc. there is always something new to try. We had a beef tartare and salmon poke & both were fabulous. In addition to the barrel aged Manhattan, there are always new drinks on the menu to try. Definitely recommend stopping in for a drink, app, or meal!

    The food was great! We had a long wait as they had a huge party prior to our arrival but our server was awesome. It was my husband's birthday so because of the wait they up graded a desert for him!!
