Our vineyard was originally part of the George Hunter Estate, established in the 1970s. Today, our Semillon, Shiraz, and Merlot vines are all that remain of this once sprawling 500-acre estate.We're proud to honour the legacy of James Busby, the proud Scot known as the father of Australian wine. Busby brought 500 cuttings from Europe to Australia and planted them in the Hunter region of Belford, not far from Lovedale.At Saltire Estate, we're committed to providing great quality wine at an affordable price. Start with drinks by the fireplace in the adjoining lounge or by the courtyard fountain on a balmy summer evening. Guests as well as visitors can enjoy lunch and dinner seven days at Tower Lodge. Drawing fresh local produce from a community of local Hunter Valley producers and growers, as well as from the Hope family’s own Angus cattle farms in the lush green pastures of the Upper Hunter, the menu is a culinary experience of the region best shared with a loved one, or with family and friends around the table.Within view - or easy walking distance - is the kitchen garden where the kitchen and gardening teams tend to a growing section of edibles including herbs greens and native ingredients. Great restaurant and menu using local produce from their garden. Real great wines and wine pairing recommendations for each meal. Will definitely be back.

Had a lovely Christmas dinner in the bistro. Our 2 year old son was well looked after with a colouring book and the selection for him was great. Food was lovely, service was really friendly. Overall a wonderful Christmas experience!

My husband and my self had a great experience at Tower Lodge Restaurant Pokolbin when we dined there on Christmas Day for a memorable lunch. The service was amazing. Food was delicious. Staff very friendly and efficient the ambiance beautiful. We will sing the praises of Tower Lodge to all. We hope to return again in the near future.
