Overall the food and service was very good. Biggest drawback was the temperature in the restaurant. I don't know if the heat is broken but it was freezing in the restaurant. Even the wait staff was huddle around a space heater at the hostess desk. Not a very comfortable environment to try and enjoy a meal in.

In a city with many wonderful restaurants to choose from, Home Grown is the best of the best. The food is outstanding. For people like us we have dietary restrictions, they always have delicious food that we can eat and we are never worried they are going to serve us something we are allergic to.

Great ambience, service was excellent, and food was exceptional. Highly recommend this place.

We were there for Newark's Restaurant week and had one of the 3 course meals for $40. The food was very good and the server was very pleasant and efficient but the cost of the three courses was about the same as if we had ordered them separately- no savings there. The cheese tortellini is one of my favorites and is very tasty. My husband had spaghetti bolognase and it too was very good.

I try to score a reservation each semester that Vita Nova is open, it is a wonderful evening out! I am always impressed with the staff, they do a fantastic job. The food is consistently delicious each time I visit, and plated appealingly. I can't wait until next semester!
