Le Garrick, located in London's theatreland, is an intimate French restaurant. There is a homely restaurant at ground level, while at lower ground level the friendly bar/dining room has intimate nooks and booths for romantic moments. Expect classics and favourites of French bistro cooking; Faux filet Rib Eye or Onglet with sauce poivre or Béarnaise & French fries. For pudding choose from Crème brulée or Lemon tart among the classic desserts. The 2/C prix fixe menu is a lifesaver pre-theatre. In an area that's full of chains, Le Garrick is a one-off. Annual celebrations in the restaurant for Beaujolais Nouveau and Bastille Day. Perfectly located for Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square.

Nice cosy atmosphere, attentive staff, good mains (we had the fish of the day and boeuf bourguignon). The desserts were especially nice. The French onion soup wasn’t my favourite version I’ve ever had; it was a bit too light for me. The green salad was surprisingly nice for being a simple green salad. It must have been the dressing. I noticed they had a theatre special, if you’re planning to squeeze in a meal early/late dinner. I would definitely go back again.

Random food, scallops smothered in a tasteless sauce, onion soup served with a slice of bread with abit of cheese on- not very French! Citron chicken was dry served with a watery red sauce - not sure what it was. Didn’t stay for dessert. The fixed price menu might be worth it but won’t go again.

Fabulous experience last night at Le Garrick! On arrival, we were shown to a romantic candlelit table downstairs where there was a lovely buzz in the restaurant with heavenly aromas of food coming from the kitchen. To start, we ordered the cheese fondue and the goats cheese salad along with a bottle of cotes de Provence rose. Mains were moules mariniere and onglet steak frites with peppercorn sauce and a side of green beans. All cooked to perfection with the most amazing flavors. We asked for some bread to mop up the delicious sauce from the moules and this was generously served in a little basket with French butter - divine! Service was warm and friendly and we cannot wait to return and bring friends and family to this lovely little brasserie in the heart of Covent garden.

The steak , pate and Coquelet were delicious, as was the House wine and the service efficient and charming. The space was rather cramped but did not spoil the experience. My only difficulty was in reading the menu, as the light was very dim indeed and the print not very bold. A great place for young lovers but we oldies need just a little more light! Thank goodness for the iPhone torch, but it was a bit of a fuss! Maybe a small table lamp could be available, just for consulting the menu?
