New American restaurant and bar that is inspired by the agricultural and coastal traditions and bounty of Virginia. Lemaire delivers the quality and service The Jefferson Hotel is known for, but in an accessible format without the pretense, formality or expense!

Complimentary self-parking is available in both the Adams Street and Main Street lots. Valet parking is $18/car

For special requests (cake, flowers, etc) guests must contact Lemaire directly.

Tables are held for 15 minutes.

Separate checks are not available for parties of six or more. A 20% gratuity will automatically be applies for parties of six or more.

This was my husband and my first time to Lemaire. We specifically scheduled a time to visit The Jefferson Hotel during the holiday season. It did not disappoint. We arrived at the hotel and found the parking lot easily. We took a ticket (to be validated at the meal), and we entered the lobby. We were greeted by the host and taken tour our seat within just a minute or so. The ambiance is perfect. Low lighting, but not so low that you can't read. The music is perfect, allowing for conversation to take place without having to yell, but also providing a nice background sound. Our server was Candi. She greeted us warmly and in a friendly manner. We ordered the Caesar salads which were delicious. The best I've had in a while. We ordered the chicken breast to split. It came with an apricot wild rice and sauces. These were all amazing! No critiques. We also ordered a side of the mac and cheese, which was delicious as well. We each had two glasses of sparkling rose to celebrate the day (January 1st) and finished with the chocolate caramel gateau. Candi was pleasant and helpful the entire time. She was friendly and interesting, asking us questions about ourselves and making conversation. All in all, this was a great experience. We even talked about it being an annual event for us.

We visited for NYE dinner, so it was busy! The hotel was absolutely beautifully decorated for Christmas. Service was great, just a little slow, which is fine and was totally to be expected on a major holiday. The hostess was so sweet and our server was very nice. Great wine list. Our food was really good. Particularly the fried oysters app was the best we’ve had. The entrees were great (rockfish and chicken) but a little pricy and I think the rockfish was a tad overcooked but it was still good. I would definitely dine again, it’s great for a special occasion and seeing the historic hotel is just an experience itself.

The fried oysters were much too salty. The rice with the chicken was mushy although the chicken was good. My wife's salmon tasted "fishy" like it was too old.

Lovely New Years Eve dinner date. Quiet and no one ever rushed us out. I was surprised that the tables weren’t packed, but that made it so enjoyable because it was quiet and private and romantic. Our waitress provided helpful recommendations and the food was excellent and well-portioned. The festive cocktails were enjoyable. Loved the cheese board for dessert! Highly recommend.

We were seated near, but not in, the bar. It was extremely loud (you couldn't hear your table's conversation very well). They dropped and broke numerous glasses. Server was rushing us, was not attentive, and did not have a very service-oriented attitude- told us the bar was busy so ordering drinks needed to be done together, never asked if we wanted a second drink, did not ask if we wanted appetizers, etc.

This was a grand dining experience. The Food was delicious and hot. My server, Sean, was exemplary. Very nice time at Lemaire.

We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday/Christmas here. It was a first visit for us all. The food was exemplary, the ambiance was perfect, and the attention to details were superior. We had custom menus with Happy 50th Birthday Todd printed at the top, and dessert came out with Happy Birthday written beautifully in chocolate with a candle. I wish I could remember our server's name, but she was wonderful and patient with our party. My one critique is the garnishes were more for looks than eating, while the meat/main entree was great, but that could just be personal taste. Overall a wonderful experience and my husband had a perfect birthday.
