Opened in 2002, this local favorite has become an institution. Light Horse Tavern's Chef John Holm, brings a new exciting vision to the Jersey City culinary scene. The chef's philosophy is to source out seasonal ingredients and to preserve the integrity of the product when cooking.

The seasonal menu always includes a variety of fresh oysters and clams, as well as lighter fare such as the grilled octopus salad, fresh market fish, and heartier favorites such as the prime steaks.

Been here a few times and the food is fantastic. Got the garlic lobster roll with fries, would HIGHLY recommend. I will be back to try more.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Light Horse Tavern! Table and ambiance was perfect. Food was delicious and the waitress Kat was so accommodating to our 3 year old. Very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back

Food was delicious. I had a duck breast! Amazing! The restaurant has a very semi casual vibe with charming modern-ish decor. Not luxurious, not a diner, just right for a casual dinner with friends. I’ll totally go back!

Horrible service , we arrived at 1:45, server took our order right away, we got pumpkin soup and oysters 15 minutes later . I had to return my pumpkin soup as it was damn sweet. At 2:45 my husband had to walk to bar and follow up on our main meal ( brunch -egg type of food) and we got it at 3:10, then we asked for crème blue and coffee to arrive at the same time and we got the coffee and again my husband had to walk to the useless manager who’s standing there and doesn’t bother to Check on guests and asked for the dessert which suppose to be served cold and it’s pre-ready. I never liked this place because of the service but we gave them the second chance but never again

Great NYE dinner. Food was delicious, service excellent and the band/singer added to the festive mood! This was our second NYE at Light Horse Tavern!
