It all began with a love story and a dream. Linwood, a chef, and Ellen, a reporter, met 36 years ago in a restaurant of course! They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years.

Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. Our service is warm and attentive. We have developed a reputation for consistency an attention to detail. These qualities are key to our catering business as well. Our team has worked hard to connect to our community, and we value our customers. These values have been central to Ellen and Linwood’s vision, and we hope are felt by our customers each day.

This comes from almost twenty years of catering events from small celebrations at home to galas for thousands. Linwoods has catered weddings, mitzvahs, corporate events, charity balls, and openings. Our goal is to make our clients happy and relaxed, to provide special menus tailored to your style within your price range. We can also connect you to other reliable vendors, who will help make your event spectacular.

    Linwoods' delicious cuisine, style and service can also be experienced during catered events held at our facility. There are two private rooms, one that seats up to 20 people "Private Dining Room", and "Due", which seats up to 120. "Due" also has the capacity to hold about 150 for cocktails and buffet. There is an outdoor area that can be tented. These areas can accommodate entertainment and a dance floor. These spaces are lovely for weddings, parties, corporate events and meetings, as well as social gatherings.

                                                                                  Went with a friend and sat at the bar. Jason was the bartender and he was awful. Ordered the ahi appetizer. He then pointed at the spicy tuna appetizer and said thought he was repeating what I had ordered. I corrected him and said that I wanted the ahi appetizer and he started to argue with me telling me that the two tuna appetizers were both ahi. I told him that I was ordering the appetizer that was labeled as ahi in the title. He pulled the menu out of my hand and stood there for a good minute reading the list, clearly looking to correct me. When he realized that there was only one appetizer that started with 'ahi', he turned around and entered it into the computer without so much as an apology for being argumentative. Our dinners arrived. I had the sea bass over horseradish mashed potatoes. Where there was no sauce on the potatoes they were cold. Where there was sauce they were barely warm. The fish was fine, but had no seasoning on it so it was bland. The green beans had clearly been boiled and were overcooked with no seasoning, not even salt. You can do better, Linwoods. At least pan fry them in garlic and butter. The food was delivered by waitstaff. At no point did Jason ever ask us how our dinners were. He was too busy on his phone or talking with his co-workers. Before we had a chance to finish, another bartender came in, Katherine (not sure how she spells her name, I apologize if I misspelled it). She was fantastic. Although we were almost done with dinner, she asked us how everything was. She was very engaging. We wound up sitting at the bar for almost two hours after we were done just chatting with her. We would go back just to see her.

                                                                                  Linwood's continues to set high standards with great food, terrific ambiance, fantastic hosts and service! We celebrated a special occasion and as usual, we were thoroughly pleased! Their Sea Bass with potatoes and green beans was wonderful along with our other dishes. We will continue going to Linwoods for years to follow!

                                                                                  Sisterly Love Week & dining with our favorite Delta Dear. My LS and I had the pleasure of sharing the company of and meal with our sweet Sorors. We feasted on the chicken & rice soup, French onion soup, Greek salad, Caesar salad w/grilled shrimp, and for dessert, we all had the delectable warm apple tart drizzled with caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream! Our server was attentive, pleasant, and knowledgeable. A memorable experience and we're looking forward to going back REAL soon.

                                                                                  Always Great at Linwoods there tonight with friends, great time great service Annie took care of us she a dedicated 5 star waitress of 13 years . Annie and all great staff is what makes Linwoods a go to place.

                                                                                  First Class service and Top Notch Food. Pricey but truly a foodie experience. The culinary team does a great job. Desserts are also to die for. No calorie counting here just pure culinary enjoyment, great job again Linwood’s. We will return again soon.

                                                                                  Everything was close to perfect. We were seated right away and the house was full. The wait staff were very attentive, but never pushy. The waiter was a friendly who has an exceptional knowledge of food and drink. The food was prepared expertly and served within 20 minutes of placing our order. The waiter informed us that they didn't have Maryland crab soup, which is the best in the Metropolitan area. He told us the only make cream of crab for New Years Eve and don't have it the other 364 days of the year. The waiter was 100% correct. It was so nice, I didn't think about the Maryland crab soup once. It was really that good. I believe the drizzled a little sherry on top, like they did years ago on the Eastern Shore. The rest of the meal was prepared well and was wonderful.

                                                                                  I had a decent time. Wish the serving sizes were a bit bigger but overall everything was nice. Would certainly go back.
