L'Orcio is an upscale dining establishment serving Contemporary Italian Cuisine. In house made specialty pastas like Ricotta Gnocchi, Papparedelle and Ravioli are only part of the L'Orcio experience. Chef d'Amuri, an Italian native, also works his magic grilling whole fish and juicy steaks and offers a variety of meat and fish dishes daily. Desserts like Tiramisu', Charlotte agli Amaretti and Lemon Tart are also prepared in house. A relaxing and elegant ambiance with a European flair is the perfect backdrop for lunch, dinner or spirits. Located in a refurbished historical home the restaurant offers a unique space their guests. Family owned and operated with an eye for detail L'Orcio has a lot to offer. Another great evening at this dependable eatery. From the moment we entered the warm, friendly atmosphere to finishing our last bite of deliciously prepared dinner we were so happy we’d decided to come. Highly recommend.

Service was adequate but no more than that. Tomato and mozzarella salad was tasteless as was veal saltimbocca. How do you make saltimbocca tasteless? Tiramisu was delicious but portion was small. Dinner for two included: Two cocktails, one shared appetizer, two entrees and one shared dessert totaling a whopping $120.00. Suffice it to say I will not be returning.

Our friends are getting married in Italy this year. We wanted them to experience a real Italian meal … not the Italian-American food found at many Italian restaurants. L’Orchio delivered perfectly! The food was exceptional — grilled vegetables, kale Ceasar salad, beet salad, gnocchi sorentino (to die for!), branzino, etc. Service was excellent. We were seated upstairs at a corner table that was quiet enough for good conversation. Such a wonderful evening!

Delivering reliably delicious and authentic food is the reason I keep coming back here. Gnocci were outstanding and pasta freshly made and cooked perfectly. Staff was attentive but let us enjoy our meal and company.

L’Orcio is always excellent — very reliable. The only downside, in the icey winter, is parking — but that is on the city of New Haven.
