A taste of Tuscany and local treasure that is simply delicious. For over three decades, Luceti's has served Italian cuisine created by world class chef and awarded San Franciscan, Roger Bertola. Founder of the legendary Doro's, Ruggero's and master chef of Fior and the Iron Horse. Mr. Bertola was also the personal chef to generals Eisenhower and Paton. Today, Luceti's owners carry on the same tradition and cuisine that was started by Dr. Ron Luceti in 1984. Luceti's is a great place for private parties and business meetings.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with Luceti’s in San Mateo. The restaurant has a nice ambience and parking is easy. And the menu looks like classic Italian food. But then there were problems. First, they only have a few wines by the glass. They only had one red $11 Pinot by the glass and it was horrible. I couldn’t even drink it. The same was for the one Chardonnay, As a suggestion to the restaurant, if you’re only going to have a very limited wine list, at least provide good quality wines by the glass. Customers will pay $18 or more for a good glass of wine. We ordered the fresh oysters to start the meal. In the process of ordering, we asked the server which species of oysters they had and where they’re from? She had no understanding of what I was asking. She was either new to being a server in a restaurant that served oysters, has never ordered oysters in a nice restaurant, or just never had any training in being a server. She said she would go back and ask. She came back and said they were Blue Point. I wasn’t going to ask if they were flown in from Long Island, But they didn’t taste that fresh. We made a point of ordering the minestrone soup, a bowl and a cup. The warm spinach salad was good. And that was the best part of the meal. After about twenty minutes, we got our entrees, the grilled salmon piccata and with the herb butter. Then I mentioned to the server that we ordered soups. And she denied it. And I reminded her that we got a cup and a bowl. Then she remembered and apologized for forgetting. She offered to compensate us both with two ups. I agreed. Now the salmon was o.k., in places, the salmons was overcooked. The vegetables were cold. But the sliced potatoes were good., Now I did see a freshly made pizza going out to a table that looked good. Maybe the restaurant should change its name to “Luceti’s Pizza And Brew”. It needs work as an Italian restaurant.

A gem of a restaurant! Like traveling back in time to when dining was an event and the owners took extra care to make sure your evening was fabulous. The food and service was spectacular. It’s our new favorite restaurant.

We were so impressed to get our table for nine and the service was very good and quick. The food was fresh and delicious. Thank you so much Lucetis for our wonderful experience.

We were celebrating a birthday, and they were so attentive and wonderful. Great food, great service! We had a wonderful time Luceti's. Can't wait to go again.

They did not have what I always order but the dish they recommended was excellent. Also I received as a thank you a glass of wine and dessert. The was very professional and kind.

Our server was wonderful, fun and very personable. The food was fresh and really good. The only reason for a 4-star rating on ambience was that the entrance from the back of the restaurant (handicapped parking for my 83 y/o mother) and the restroom could use a little cleaning. Other than that, a very fun evening and great menu options for everyone, including vegetarians!

Where our table was it was too close to the table next to ours. We couldn’t even carry on a conversation with our friends it was so noisy from the table next to ours. You should not have tables so close to one another.
