Portugal: Land of Explorers
In the 15th Century, Prince Henry the navigator ordered his explorers to bring back to Portugal any exotic fruits, nuts and plants from the new lands. Tomatoes and potatoes are taken to Europe, Brazilian pineapples were introduced to Azores, Brazilian chili peppers grew in Angola, African coffee was transplanted to Brazil.
Today the Portuguese fondness for ingredients like cinnamon or curry powder, is also a legacy of his time. The Romans brought wheat and introduced onion, garlic, olives and grapes. Later the Moors were the first to plant rice and introduced figs, planted groves of lemons, oranges and almond trees. Portugal is a seafaring nation with a well-developed fishing industry trading cod since the 15th century.
Today, naturally, Portuguese cuisine varies from region to region , but fresh fish and shellfish are found on virtually every menu. BOM APETITE!!!!

                                                                                      Slow service. We had a reservation and still waited over 25 minutes when there were empty tables to use. Slow bar service. Food was average for the price.

                                                                                      Dear Kristin Kelly We are a busy restaurant for a good reason. We seat only 20 people every 15 minutes to make sure everything goes smoothly. You showed up one hour before your reservation. Your reservation was at 8.15pm and even like that we gave you a table at 7.45pm. The reason some tables are empty that's because of the reservations. We are very well known for honoring them. You gave us 4 star on the food. Thank you for that.

                                                                                      We were very disappointed in our first and last visit. The noise level is very high and the tables are crammed together. The food lacked seasoning, no flavor- which is unacceptable for Portuguese food. The server never once checked on us or refilled our water in 1.5hrs & it took 30 min to get the check as we sat there with nothing to eat or drink. I’d never recommend, we expected so much more and it fell flat.

                                                                                      We’ve been here 3 times. First was great, second time a little disappointing. That time there was a wedding in the side room so maybe they were overwhelmed and that contributed to our disappointment. Tried it again tonight, sat in the side room and everything from the white sangria to the paella marinherea to the wonderful service were superb. Will be returning soon.
