Portugal: Land of Explorers
In the 15th Century, Prince Henry the navigator ordered his explorers to bring back to Portugal any exotic fruits, nuts and plants from the new lands. Tomatoes and potatoes are taken to Europe, Brazilian pineapples were introduced to Azores, Brazilian chili peppers grew in Angola, African coffee was transplanted to Brazil.
Today the Portuguese fondness for ingredients like cinnamon or curry powder, is also a legacy of his time. The Romans brought wheat and introduced onion, garlic, olives and grapes. Later the Moors were the first to plant rice and introduced figs, planted groves of lemons, oranges and almond trees. Portugal is a seafaring nation with a well-developed fishing industry trading cod since the 15th century.
Today, naturally, Portuguese cuisine varies from region to region , but fresh fish and shellfish are found on virtually every menu. BOM APETITE!!!!

                                                                                      The food was delicious and they were six of us. Everyone was happy with their meal and the noise level was good so that we were all able to talk. The restaurant served us in a very leisurely manner and did not rush us at all. We would all go back again

                                                                                      Both ordered a steak entree..... one was undercooked, and the other lacked some flavor. Jorge was great and attentive. Drinks were great as well.

We started with the beet salad, Spanish meatballs and octopus, then marisada, valenciana, short ribs, and medallions of filet mignon. We finished with rice pudding, flan and chocolate mousse. We all really enjoyed our meal. The service was fantastic. We definitely will return

                                                                                      Mar Belo is a gem of a restaurant! Food is delicious and waitstaff are great! We think of MarBelo as a special place to come, but my husband discussed that we should drop by regularly even for wine, appetizers and dessert. Nice wine list! We had a lovely Valentine dinner!

                                                                                      The food is delicious. Their Sangria is really good. The service is excellent and the noise level was not bad at all. Love it! Highly recommend giving them a try.

                                                                                      Very fine dining experience. The food and service were excellent and the noise level was not too bad. I was especially impressed that they were willing to vary an item on the menu and provide exactly what I wanted, very customer friendly.
