Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

                                                                  We had a wonderful brunch with friends. Excellent service and good food. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It’s quiet enough to carry on a nice conversation.

                                                                  I always enjoy eating at marche! If you can, I strongly encourage eating where you can watch the chefs work their magic. The server was absolutely the sweetest and incredibly attentive to our needs. The food is definitely on the pricier side, especially for eugene, but is always fabulous in terms of quality. And if they still have it on the menu, the blood orange spritz is genuinely one of the best non-alcoholic cocktails I've ever had.

                                                                  I hold Marche as the standard. I go there once a month. The food is predictably excellent. However, I have learned that a late reservation (8pm) on Sunday is a poor choice. The food was substandard. The hanger steak (steak and frites) was room temperature as was the soup. The cola was absent of carbonation on two attempts. I sensed the desire to close shop (9pm) exceeded the desire to finish strong. Again, my point is not to discourage or disparage, just a logistical note to avoid a late Sunday dinner for future reservations.

                                                                  The food was so delicious - beyond our expectations. We were very happy with the service and everything about our experience. The atmosphere was lively, and everything from casual to a nice dining experience. We will be back again!

                                                                  One of our favorite restaurants. Never disappointed! Menu options change and always absolutely delicious! Service always excellent. We love Saturday or Sunday brunch. Best time for brunch is 10-10:30 am. We highly recommend Marche.
