Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

If you go for brunch, get the beignets, and ask for the potatoes with creme fraiche, you won't regret it. The omelets are superb, and my dining partner loved the salmon hash.

Marche' is and has been our favorite restaurant in Eugene for decades. Service is friendly and efficient. Food is perfectly prepared with a rainbow of flavors. Ambiance is comfortable as the restaurant is nicely decorated. Every meal is the perfect dining experience. Jeffrey Ogburn

We went for a special Beaujolais dinner but the OpenTable reservation did not capture that fact of my reservation so we had to order off the regular menu. That was a disappointment! The service was excellent and the food was good!

I'm so sorry that happened! We were surprised at what an enthusiastic response we got to the Beaujolais dinner–so much so that we're planning to host some more regional events very soon. I hope I can entice you to come again so we can make it up to you.

Three friends and I attended Marche’s French Regional Dinner Nov 21 for a birthday.We are all longtime customers of Marche, and were happy to make reservations for the first French Regional Dinner in 4 years.I made reservations almost a month in advance, even though the menu hadn’t been decided, because I knew it would be popular.When I called Marche for details, I was asked how many in our party wanted the French Regional Dinner, and I told them that probably at least 2 of us would, but that I wasn’t sure, since we didn’t know the menu.I was told that that was okay; they were just trying to get a ballpark figure. When we arrived for our 5:30 reservation, we were extremely disappointed to find out that we were in the bar, not the main restaurant.Though we asked, we were not allowed to move to the main restaurant, even though it was still early and there were available tables in the restaurant.We were virtually ignored by our waiter for 20 minutes.We jokingly remarked that we thought we had lost him, and he responded in a critical tone that he had other tables and other people to serve.This was unexpected & inappropriate, especially at a restaurant like Marche.When he finally returned to take our orders, he informed us that only 2 of us could order the French Dinner, even though 3 of us wanted to.We explained the conversation I had on the phone about how many would want that order, and he left to get the manager.We explained the situation to the manager, who was courteous, but we had to make our case before he agreed. We didn’t receive our main course for 1 hour and 20 minutes.Though our waiter told us the kitchen was backed up, we had expressly made an early reservation, and yet we seemed to be at the back of the line. No offer for any complimentary beverages or snacks were made.We left the restaurant 3 1/2 hours after we sat down, and the restaurant was nearly empty.We have emailed Marche about our experience, but no response. Not sure when we will return.

As always, the food is fantastic at Marche' while the service is always excellent. Last night, Ramil (?) was our server, and he did a super job of taking care of all our culinary needs. My wife had the Roast Duck, and I had Steak Frites. Both dishes were excellent. One can never go wrong eating at Marche'.

Unique menu that changes with the season. Authentic French menu. It feels special.

This is our favorite restaurant in Eugene. Food is always consistent and excellent. We had the seafood tower and it was amazing.
