                                                                                                                Premetto che le aspettative erano alte viste le recensioni. Ho ordinato smashed potatoes (10$) e bone-in cowboy ribeye (62 $ + tasse e mancia) mentre per dolce brownie con gelato (sui 10$). La carne l'avevo chiesto medium-rare ma in moltinpunti è arrivata letteralmente carbonizzata. La qualità poi lasciava molto a desiderare con parecchi nervi. Il brownie normale. Precisazione: se il ristorante punta ad essere una steakhouse (così almeno dice il nome stesso del locale) perché nel menù trovo una prevalenza di pesce e di pasta? Gli stessi antipasti sono praticamente tutti a base di pesce e non si capisce come si possa prima ordinare un antipasto a base di pesce e poi una bella bistecca. Giudizio ben al di sotto delle aspettative visto il prezzo ed il fatto che ho mangiato una steak house più buona spendendo anche qualcosina meno.

                                                                                                                The food and the staff were amazing; I will definitely return the shape of the dining room (old building) is kind of odd which makes the placement of the tables kind of odd; out of approximately 25 tables I would say there’s only 4 good tables.

                                                                                                                Can‘t agree on the positive recommendations / ratings: while service was highly motivated and very friendly, overall impression of the place is a bit of gone better times: chairs shaky, menues worn and decoration a bit uninspired. Our maincourse porterhouse was cooked to our order, but meat appeared firmer than usually and less flavorful. Sides were solid but also uninspired.

                                                                                                                A no-fuss steakhouse, get the Porterhouse medium-rare! And maybe a martini and a chopped wedge salad to start, and creamed spinach on the side with yoru steak. It's what you want. Their desserts are good but even better is to walk over to the Tin Building for some gelato -- you will want the walk, and the gelato clears the palate. MarkJoseph is, by far, my favorite steakhouse in New York City. Once you've eaten there you realize that the other places (a) don't make steak quite as well and (b) try to cover it up with hoopla. The steakhouse experience is to have a good steak, and MJ is the place.

                                                                                                                The restaurant was empty and service was terrible. Took forever to get our first drink and it was very overpriced. Very disappointing. Server was not friendly and the butter was in little packets and cold.
