Set overlooking the Pacific Ocean with stunning views, Forbes Four-Star award winner, mar'sel offers the ideal location for an elegant dinner or seasonal Sunday brunch. Located just south of Los Angeles on the verdant Palos Verdes Peninsula, mar'sel (a play on the Spanish word for sea, mar and the French word for salt, sel) offers a decidedly inventive twist on international cuisine. Chef Fabio Ugoletti's seasonally rotating fine dining menu that features locally sourced ingredients (including citrus and herbs from the resort's grounds), as well as playful takes on culinary favorites, mar'sel combines approachable luxury with a breathtaking setting perfect for every palate.

By far the best dining experience we’ve had in So Cal in a very long time. Our server treated us as if we were VIPs. Each menu item ordered tasted better than expected. The octopus starter, the crispy fingerlings, the Branzino and the chocolate pot de Creme were all show stoppers. Kudos to the chef and also management for keeping service quality very high. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful presentation but none of the dishes tasted really good … my branzino was okay, mushrooms were nasty, lamb guanoche had just a sprinkle of lamb, beets salad was weird with beets in some sauce with a few leaves, traditional desert was nasty… sorry but the food was nasty. We are locals and go there sometimes for special menus (Valentines etc) and it’s a first time we went just for a date and paid about $300 for nasty food. And in addition I got an upset stomach. Please change your chef, but we won’t be back that’s for sure.

Great view, waiter was clever and food was artistic and amazingly tasteful from appetizer to entree, everything was perfection.

Beautiful setting on New Years Day. Duck and the pot de crème were best dishes of the night. Our waiter was very attentive and charming with our 3-year old. Some dishes lacked salt and some substitutions were offered by the kitchen as they ran out of certain items - subbed tuna for the hamachi crudo and a different dessert wine.
