Max Lager's was one of the first restaurants to bring the fresh and natural wood-fired menu concept to Atlanta. The art of cooking with wood enhances the Max Lager's experience with bold flavors simply not found with alternative cooking methods. We feel that the investment made in the wood-fired grill is an investment that pays great dividends to our guests.

All Max Lager's menu items are prepared daily from scratch. Wood-fired steaks, burgers, seafood, ribs, and pizza are Max Lager's signature items. An inspired selection of entrée salads and pastas add variety to the American menu.

                                                                                I had a buddy in town and we picked this place because it was rated well and close. The atmosphere was casual and we were greeted upon arrival. The beers and drink were as expected. The food was good with the exception of my friend having a slightly overcooked steak. I had the grouper sandwich, which was delicious. We ended with the bread pudding, great flavor, not too sweet and could have been cooked a little more to firm up the middle. Our server was Jason and he was super cool, very attentive and personable. Overall really good experience.

                                                                                We had a reservation, but the restaurant was extremely busy. When we were seated we waited half an hour before seeing a server and getting water. We were told the kitchen was substantially behind so we could decide whether to stay or leave. Knowing we wouldn’t be able to get seated in any other restaurant, we stayed. It took almost three hours total complete our meal. We appreciated our server’s honesty and upbeat manner, but it really did take too long for every aspect of our meal.

                                                                                We went on a busy Saturday night. It was crowded with convention folks waiting with no reservations. However, we had reservations and they asked who had reservations when we came through the door which helped streamline the process for us. The food was really good. We had the Maxidilla (quesadillas) as an appetizer and was as good as I have had. The New York Strip I had was perfect. My wife had wood grilled chicken and she said was really good. Drinks were strong and service was excellent for as busy as it was. Those servers worked hard. So the tip is “have a reservation on football Saturdays in Atlanta”
