                                                                                                                                                                      We saw McAdoo's on Texas Country Reporter this morning, reviewed the menu and made a reservation. Wow, we were impressed just entering the door of this converted Post Office (beautifully restored). The staff is outstanding in every area. Simply the Best Seafood in Central Texas. Grilled Oysters A+, and Sea Bass entries are amazing. We cannot wait to return.

                                                                                                                                                                      We had the crab cakes and fried calamari as appetizers, and both were excellent. Husband really enjoyed the chicken fried ribeye. I had the crawfish combo, and the ettouffe was delicious, but the fried crawfish was not up to par. Friends shared the big fish platter and the chargrilled oysters, and really liked both of those. We all enjoyed a couple of Bloody Mary’s that were great!

                                                                                                                                                                      We’ve been dining here for several years now. The menu hasn’t changed and they rarely have specials. Today I was disappointed to learn about the special AFTER my meal, when I heard our waitress telling it to the newly seated table next to us. I was so bummed! I would’ve ordered it if I had known about it, because I’ve become bored with the menu. (The only reason we were there is because our son wanted to eat there while he was home from college.) I’ll remember to ask about any specials next time I’m there.

Prices…shrimp Brochette, second shrimp dish, northern dozen oysters, fresh bread and butter, 2 double Crowns on ice cream, 1 glass of red wine. $166. Can’t beat it. And when you leave a review line this, they will probably comp your next meal. Worth a shot. All seriousness… e of the best experiences.
