I normally only have good things to say about Merrick, and while the service and atmosphere were on point as always, the meal itself was not the best. I ordered the salmon, listed as broiled with dill hollandaise. It looked tasty but was far too salty to eat, and I am a salt fiend who will dip a finger in the salt cellar when cooking. Our lovely server took it back for me and though the second piece was better, it was still on the salty side even though the kitchen send it out with the seasoning and hollandaise on the side in an effort to ameliorate the issue.

The ambience is excellent. The historic and cozy environment contributes to an excellent dining setting. Some of the best Southern cooking I’ve had in a while. Service was excellent.

Food was great, lovely surroundings. The only negative was the noise level. We were meeting someone we hadn't seen for a while, and it was hard to hear each other.

We’ve been here many times. I was surprised that the speed of the delivery of the dishes was very rushed. It’s never been like that. Didn’t have much time between courses

Love Merrick. They had prime rib as a special which was excellent. Our server, Zack, was wonderful. The only downside is we sat in the bourbon bar area, which is my least favorite area of the restaurant. It is noisy and you can hear every word spoken at the tables next to you. This was a last-minute reservation, however, so we took what was available.

We had reservations at 5. Was promptly seated but asked for a different table which they would not accommodate. That was disappointing because there were lots of tables available. Other than that, we had a great experience. The food was excellent with little wait time. The waiter was fantastic and very courteous! Loved the ambience as well. We will go back!
